Start your business improvement program by accurately identifying everything that needs to be done to increase creativity and innovation in your organisation.
The Applied Innovation Centre has identified 43 elements critical for successful corporate innovation.
A BICI Assessment provides a clear and quantified indication of those elements in your organisation which need attention to generate greater innovation and creativity.
Most business leaders know that greater levels of creativity and innovation are essential for their organisation’s future success – but often don’t know where to start.
A BICI Assessment will provide comprehensive answers to this fundamental question.
An AIC-trained and accredited consultant conducts the assessment so you can have complete confidence in the outcome.
Contact the Applied Innovation Centre to find out what’s involved and to arrange for the project to be scoped based on the size and nature of your organisation.

The B.I.C.I. Instrument
The instrument measures the degree to which elements critical for corporate innovation are present in your organisation.
Key executives and staff are interviewed by the AIC consultant to ascertain where the organisation is positioned with respect to the 43 critical elements.
It is an ‘evidence based’ process in which the consultant will ask to sight and review documents or other evidence that support the answers provided.
A score is allocated by the consultant to each of the critical elements based on the stage at which that element is present in the organisation.
The stages are:
Integration
The element is fully integrated within the organisation and is operating effectively
Implementation
The element is already at an advanced stage of implementation, and a system is in place that provides feedback for learning how to further refine or develop documents, processes, practices or procedures.
Initiation
The element is in the process of being designed – or a plan has been developed and is currently being implemented.
Preparation
There are documents showing that the element or initiative is being addressed.
Intention
People in the organisation are openly talking about the element.
No Intentions
There is no current intention to implement or develop the element
The questions relating to the critical elements are arranged under 10 headings:
1.Strategic Corporate Direction
2.Business / Operational Planning
3.Cultural Alignment
4.Creativity and Innovation Education and Training
5.Ideas Management
6.Innovation Measurement
7.Rewards and Recognition
8.Organisational Support
9.Budget / Finance / Commercialisation
10.Human Resources Strategies
The principal benefit of the BICI assessment is that it enables you to plan and prioritise your organisation's innovation and creativity initiative to achieve breakthrough outcomes quickly.
You will also have a quantified score or benchmark against which you can measure improvements over time.
